There are many possible causes. UV light exposure may lead to cataracts. So we should wear a pair of sunglasses when we go out. Smoking can be one of the factors too. So ask your loved ones to give up smoking is a good way to help them keep a healthy body and a pair of good eyes. If the patients have diabetes, they are easily to get cataracts than the normal person. And we should eat lots of dark, leafy green vegetables every day.

The doctor told me that cataracts are caused by the structure change of proteins. So the changed protein cannot maintain the clarity of our eye lens. Trauma to our eyes, hereditary enzyme defects, intraocular inflammation or eye surgery may lead to cataracts too. We can adopt a variety of options to help reduce the risk of getting cataracts. We should be careful about macular degeneration. If we found this symptom, we must see the doctor timely. But this often happens among older people. So we must pay attention to the eye health of our parents. We'd better take them to see the eye doctor every year.
