  • Do eye exercises help strabismus in adults?

I have strabismus for many years, do eye exercises help strabismus in adults?

  • #2
Studies show that only adults with insufficient convergence will benefit from exercising the eyes. Eye exercises can help to train the muscles in both eyes to focus, these exercises will also strengthen the muscles in the affected eye. What's more eye exercises can help an individual become more productive, gain better visual acuity, and can be quick and easy to do. Although people may benefit from eye exercises, but it is important to get an accurate diagnosis and treatment plan from a medical professional first.

Of course it is. Strabismus is an eye condition in which the eyes are not properly aligned. And it may cause eye fatigue, double vision, blurred images, reading difficulty or a loss of depth perception. Eye exercises will strengthen the muscles in the affected eye and treat the disorder of vision. Besides, you can also eat more vegetables and fruits which are rich in vitamin C, keep drinking a large amount of water to help clean your blood and develop good dietary habits as well as daily routines, especially getting rid of smoking.

Eye exercises certainly will do good to our eyes, no matter children or adults, healthy or refraction errors. But as to strabismus in adults, often do eye exercise can stop the symptom from worsen, but cannot correct it. Children with strabismus almost take surgeries and wear corrective glasses, often with one eye covered by eyewear. But there are some children with strabismus didn't take operations, but can also lead a normal life as others though the symptom exists.
