Can wearing weaker prescription glasses really improve vision?

NO. I ever asked my eye doctor the same question. Weaker prescription glasses won't give you perfect vision, so you can't see things clearly, which is bad for your eyes. So you should get an eye exam at least once a year. If our prescription changes, you should change for new glasses.

Wearing weaker prescription glasses or contacts won't make your eyes better or worse, it just makes you unable to see clearly. Because glasses won't change the shape of your eyes, nor prevent your eyes from changing shape. And the vision changes because the shape of your eyes changes.

When the optician make glasses for you, they will try to give you the best vision in lowest degree. But it is not better to wear weaker prescription glasses. You just need to choose which one you feel the most comfortable.

It is not always better to wear weaker prescription glasses for everyone. Someone will see better when they wear weaker glasses but others can see better with stronger ones. You doctor can give you better advice about what prescription you need.
