It is depend on what you are required for this surgery, nearsighted or farsighted? Strong power or not? There are several types of laser eye surgery, Both of them are capable of precisely correcting prescription errors. You'd better go to your doctor to have your eyes examined and they will recommend which procedure would be best for you.

The only real difference between Lasik and Lasek eye surgery is the way in which the eye is accessed during the procedure. During the Lasik procedure it is your inner cornea that is lasered and the surgeon needs to lift off the top layer of tissue in order to access the correct part of your cornea. A flap is created which essentially means a thin outer layer of your cornea is lifted away. Once the surgeon has applied the laser this flap is then replaced and left to heal. With Lasek however there is no flap created. The surgeon merely loosens the top layer of your cornea and moves it to one side. Once the laser has been applied this outer layer (epithelium) is replaced back and the eye is left to heal.
