There are several possible causes for this including: 1. Your eyes are so tired. You are suffering from eye fatigue. 2.You get eyelashes into your eyes. When you close your eyes, the lashes sting your cornea. 3.You are suffering from dry eyes or corneal abrasion. Something gets into your eyes which are too dry to have tearfilm protecing them from being scraped. 4.There can be something wrong with your eye muscle which control the movement of your eyeballs. So when you close your eyes, the muscle controling them sting.

Well, for your situation, I have to say it may have some eye problem occurring in your eyes. In common, there are many reasons which can lead to the hurt in your eyes when you close your eyes. According to some experts, it can be because of the eye infection, for there are many dirty objects in the air outside. And these dirty objects get into your eyes, and then they can just make your eyes infected. In that way, your eyes will feel hurt. In some cases, redness can be possible too. So just be careful about it.

Usually, if your eye hurt when you close it, there may be something in your eye that scratches the cornea, which make your eye hurt. This thing may be an eyelash. If so, you can use eye drops to flush it out. If you are a contact lenses wearer, the pain may be the result of minor trauma or irritation from your wearing the lenses. You can quit wearing contact lenses and use artificial tears or lubricating ophthalmic ointment. Avoiding eye strain is also necessary. Stye is also a probable cause of the pain and can be got rid of by warm compresses. If your condition is not relieved after you tried all the medications or home remedies, you must turn to your doctor.
