I am just wondering. Why do so many people wear glasses to watch a solar eclipse? Are they nearsighted?

So, as a matter of fact, I used to be puzzled by this question, and later on I realized that the lights of the sun is so strong that direct exposure of your eyes to the sunshine could give rise to a dramatic decrease in your vision, and maybe a pair of burned eyes, even lead to blindness. Anyway we must wear some sunglasses to resist those lights . Of course they are not necessarily nearsighted, but they want to enjoy better and safer.

Well, of course, you should wear a pair of special glasses when you watch the solar eclipse, for the sunlight can damage your eyes. And there is nothing to do with the near-sight or not. It is just the common sense. As we know that when the solar eclipse occurs, the sunlight is the strongest one. So when you watch it directly with your eyes, it can just hurt your eyes. In some cases, it may lead to eye diseases. So many people watch it with special glasses to protect their eyes from harmful sunlight.

Hello, as far as I know. The glasses people wear to watch solar eclipse is special, specifically, it has special filters on them, which can protect people eyes from damages by the light. Because looking directly at the sun is dangerous. They may not be nearsighted, in my opinion, mostly for eye protection.
