  • How good are Serengeti Sunglasses?

I have a pair of Oakley's that I like, but I'd like to have an extra pair to switch it up now and then. I was looking at the Serengeti Vedi sunglasses, but I'm not too familiar with the quality of this company. Any feedback?

I had some Serengeti aviator style glasses. Decent quality for the price. Optical quality was great; lenses were glass which I prefer over the distortion of a plastic lens. The clear nose piece cushions turned yellow from sun exposure and the right nose assembly fell apart after 3 years. I tossed them.

Absolutely! I've been wearing Serengeti sunglasses or eyeglasses for over 20 years now, got my first pair from my airline pilot uncle when I started flying. They are by far the best flying sunglasses I've tried, and I've tried almost every brand you can think of. Do a Google search for "Serengeti sunglasses" and select the "Shopping" tab. Then sort by price, low to high. You'll find a nice selection for under $100 bucks. Or even $80!

Serengeti lenses surpasses all standards for UV protection.Your eyes are particularly vulnerable to the ravages of the sun. Scientists continue to discover long-term harmful effects of the sun's UV rays on the human eye - effects that can lead to cataracts. Serengeti lenses absorb 100% of the sun's UVB rays and no less than 98.5% of UVA rays, exceeding all government and commercial standards.
