Is wearing dark sunglasses an ok alternative?

Is wearing dark sunglasses an ok alternative to using a screen on front of pc monitor to reduce glare?

I have a small bedroom and sit a bit close to my pc monitor and i have reduced the brightness and contrast but would wearing dark sunglasses help protect my eyes or not from glare?

Maybe it does. But I think the polarized glasses are much better to reduce the glare and the brightness. There are special glasses which called computer glasses aiming to help relieve the eye strain from the computer screen. The lenses of the computer glasses can be polarized so as to protect your eyes.
