  • Prescription Eyeglasses VERSES Store Bought Reading Glasses?

I have a -4.00 written on my prescription and I always see reading glasses you can buy in the store that have +2.25, -3.00 and alot other ones with different + or - before them is there a difference between these and the ones bought at your opthamologist?

The glasses with number "+" are used for farsightedness who have problems seeing things close ,while the number "-" means nearsightedness . The reading glasses you can bought over-the-counter are usually come with "+", and I don't think they can come with a "-" .So for your case , you only need prescription glasses . You may need reading glasses when you age 40s .
