  • How to bend glasses back into shape?

My glasses bent a little at an angle. How can I bend them back into shape without damaging them?

If your glasses bent a little at an angle or is out of shape as a result of some reasons, I have some suggestions for you. You can repair it by yourself if the glasses is just a little out of shape or it is made of titanium?memory metal?memory plastic. You can bent it back with your fingers or some other tools. I suggest you to wrap a cloth around it, for you may scratch the lens and frames. Secondly, if your glasses are badly out of shape, I think you'd better go to the glasses stores to find some technicians to repair it.

That depends on the type of your glasses frames. If your glasses is made of metal frame, you can blend them back to shape with soft pliers. Place your glasses on an even table and look where the frames are out of shape. Then use a cloth cover your glasses in case the frames and lenses get scratched. Finally, place the pilers in the spot where they are bent and bend them gently back into shape. If your glasses frame is made of plastic, you should heat them to make them soft so that you can apply pressure on them to bend them back into shape easily.

Does your eyeglasses frames made of titanium or memory materials based glasses frames. If so, you can try to bend the glasses frames and reshape it to adapt it. Or it may break you glasses frames if you bend it. You can just bend the glasses frames as what want till the frames fit for you. Anyway, i think you's better have an optician bend it so as to get a pair of comfortable eyeglasses frames.

The most important thing to remember when trying to straighten glasses is not to force them into shape. Bending them back should always be done gently so that they don't become further damaged. Broken glasses are a lot more expensive to fix than ones that are simply bent. Be sure not to apply too much pressure or use quick, jerky movements. If it's unclear which way they need to be bent in order to straighten them, place the glasses on a table or other flat surface. The side that is up in the air should be bent down. Most of the time, pressure needs to be applied at the nose piece.
