Are non prescription colored contacts safe for eyes?

I have seen my friends wear non prescription colored contacts to change the color of her eyes, and I would like to get some too. But I wonder are they really safe for eyes?

Most non prescription colored contacts are safe for your eyes as long as you do a good cleaning job and follow the instruction strictly. I have been worn colored contacts for 3 months without any issue.

They are just as safe as prescription contacts. As long as you wear them in a correct way, there won't be any problem. But you must have the contact lenses fitted an eye doctor because they are in different sizes.
